Hervey Bay is one of the most ideal spots for young families on the East Coast of Australia, as the area is screened from the ocean by Fraser Island and is devoid of surf. Being 123 klms. long, Fraser is the largest sand island in the world. Visitors to the area should pay a visit to The Historical Village and Museum for a really interesting couple of hours. Urangan has a couple of interesting attractions. Vic Heslop's Great White Shark Show is on The Esplanade, and Neptunes Reef World is close by.
